Agnetha Faltskog

Agnetha is more famous due to her role in ABBA rather than as a solo singer in Sweden. ABBA was one of the biggest pop groups in history in both the commercial and global sense. As a teenager, she quit school, Agnetha Faltskog began singing in Bernt Enghardt's band which quickly gained a following. After Enghardt's encouragement, she landed her first record deal. She soon topped the charts in Sweden through her debut release. Bjorn became her spouse and she became a part of ABBA. ABBA was to become one of the most popular group of pop in the world for the next 8 years. They received numerous awards such as platinum and gold around the world. After ABBA she released 3 albums "Wrap Your Arms Around Me', Eyes of a Woman' in addition to I Stand Alone'. Each of them was hugely successful in Sweden. The band also gained popularity in Europe. But they did not make a huge impact in America. ABBA's music was the subject of a show on jukeboxes called "Mamma Mia!. Her album 'My Coloring Books,' which peaked at eleven on the chart in the UK, was recorded after she had come out of retirement. The new album, A, was also well received.
